As we wrap up a “winning” week at the 2017 RSA conference in San Francisco, attended by more than 45,000, I am excited to highlight incredible momentum from our Threat Report, recent industry awards, and most importantly the conversations with our loyal customers and partners. We are excited to hear the overwhelming enthusiasm for the 2017 Annual Threat Report, the launch of Email Security 9.0 with Capture, the technical preview of SonicOS 6.2.7 and our SecureFirst Partner Program.
As PEAK16 comes to a close, I would like to recap some of the highlights from the numerous conversations with our world class and loyal VAR community.
From the stage, the close to 744 channel partners in attendance heard about the latest ways to protect customers while ensuring IT is a business enabler, especially in light of the growing pervasiveness of ransomware.
Today’s advanced threats are designed to evade detection. An explosion of zero-day threats challenges every one of us. In 2015 alone, our solutions blocked more than 8.19 billion attacks. And most recently, the onslaughts of ransomware attacks have escalated an environment of fear. How do you defend against unknown zero-day threats?
I like cars. All kinds of cars. From high speed racers, to utility pickups and even classics like the 1961 Corvette I’m looking to restore in my spare time. Partner programs are a lot like cars. As I’ve spent the past few days talking with customers and fellow information security professionals at this year’s RSA Conference, it’s become crystal clear that the threat of cybercrime has changed up the way we work. As these threats morph and shapeshift into new, more sophisticated forms, we must stay one step ahead of the bad actors to protect our customers.
Back from NYC, where I attended last week’s National Retail Federation annual conference, “The Big Show.” It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a major event like this one, but retail continues to be important to SonicWall and is now part of what I do here at SonicWall Security, particularly for our SonicWall network security offerings.
Suffice it to say, SonicWall ‘s been in the news recently. Certainly the news around EMC has garnered many headlines. But it’s great to know that while all of this goes on, our number one priority remains interacting with our customers from around the world. This week, many of us are at the annual SonicWall World and the SonicWall Software User Forum 2015 in Austin.
SonicWall World 2015 takes place in Austin in a couple of weeks, Oct. 20-22, and I am eager to talk security with our customers, partners, press and analysts. We will kick off the conference with a Network Security Track at the SonicWall World Software User Forum, which leads to three information-packed days of technical training for SonicWall Next-Generation Firewall customers.
